No buggin’ out this summer! This indoor-outdoor zapper is on sale for just $28

Summer is known for so many things we love, like family barbecues, seasonal sales and travel. But the warm summer weather brings something else we don’t exactly love: bugs. Yep, those annoying gnats, mosquitoes and flies will stick around as long as the weather is nice, which just ends up cramping our summer style. One quick and easy way to get rid of them? A bug zapper. Right now, this fan-favorite option is on sale for just $28 at Amazon.

Whether you’re inside or outside, this kid-safe zapper can serve up an impressive bug brûlée.

Why is this a good deal? 💰

We love a good summer deal, and this is the most affordable this bug zapper has been since the top of June — it’s normally $40. Word of advice: Snag it now before the price jumps again.

Why do I need this? 🤔

The Liba electric bug zapper uses blue-violet light to attract bugs, then blasts them into oblivion. It has an impressive range of 1,600 square feet to help protect you and your loved ones, wherever you may be.

The zapper is waterproof, so you can use it on your porch or in your backyard, but it can also be used inside (looking at you, gnats) thanks to a motorless design and fireproof ABS casing. There’s even a child safety screen to keep little fingers out.

This gadget is super easy to set up and operate: Just plug it in, turn it on and enjoy the fruits of its labor. You can hang it from the included hook or leave it out on your counter — either way, it’ll take out bugs like a champ.

What reviewers say 💬

More than 10,000 Amazon shoppers give the Liba and its indoor-only counterpart a five-star rating, and based on their reviews, we understand why.

Pros 👍

One fan called the Liba “fantastic” before adding, “Turn this product on at night and you will rid your room of every flying insect before morning … You gotta see and hear to believe how well it works.”

A fellow happy customer called the Liba “very effective” before sharing one major tip. “The more bugs it kills, the more it should be cleaned,” the reviewer said. “There are so many [bugs] that some fall out of it. It does its job extremely well. I am very satisfied with this item, [I] will be getting one more for the front porch. It’s very quiet and the buzzing sounds only last about a second per bug.”

“I’ve tried a few different things to get rid of those annoying winged insects, but they either didn’t work right or they made a mess,” said a third shopper. “I bought this to help eradicate the fruit fly population and it did exactly that. I’ll be sitting on the couch and all I hear is a small pop, and buh-bye fly! I wish I bought this a long time ago!”

Cons 👎

While there’s no question that this bug zapper works, one shopper said that it’s a bit hit or miss when it comes to mosquitoes. “Bought this item for use in Minnesota for the pesky mosquitoes,” the reviewer explained. “However, the mosquitoes just ignore it. It does work and kills almost everything else.”

Another shopper added that, while it works “very well,” it may create a bit of a mess that you’ll have to clean up. “It works so well [that] you’ll need to clean it fairly frequently which takes less than five minutes,” the reviewer said.

Interested in just zapping insects inside your home? There’s a separate Liba model you might want to consider, and it comes with two extra bulbs.

“This thing … is the bug terminator. No playin’ around here,” said a grateful reviewer. “The easy clean-out tray is a stroke of genius, but it doesn’t catch it all. Be prepared … with a little broom or I use a handheld vacuum cleaner, and I have to sweep up the killing field about once a week.”

If you have Amazon Prime, you’ll get free shipping, of course. Not yet a member? No problem. You can sign up for your free 30-day trial here. (And by the way, those without Prime still get free shipping on orders of $25 or more.)
