One lucky Australian could soon be paid to stay in luxury resorts, fly around the world and create travel content as part of what is being billed as the ultimate dream job.
Luxury Escapes has launched a nationwide search for its first-ever Travel Tester, with applications opening on Sunday for the role worth about $50,000.
The winner and a guest of their choice will be flown to destinations including the Maldives and Sri Lanka, along with two luxury Australian escapes, all expenses paid.

Their job will be to act as a mystery shopper, testing flights, accommodation and tours before sharing honest reviews and creating content for Luxury Escapes’ social channels.
Luxury Escapes chief executive Adam Schwab said the concept was inspired by a childhood fantasy.
“Five-star luxury, not paying a cent. I’ve always wanted to be Willy Wonka and this is our chance,” he said.
The company is not necessarily looking for a seasoned traveller.
“We don’t necessarily need someone who’s been on 500 holidays. We want someone who’s really curious, is really good at communicating and really understands what customers want,” Schwab said.
The successful applicant will receive training on content creation before embarking on the trip.
As part of the role, they will be expected to provide detailed feedback on every aspect of the experience.
The launch comes as Australians continue to embrace both international and domestic travel experiences.
Tourism and Transport Forum chief executive Margy Osmond said local destinations remained a major drawcard.
“There’s always good reasons, I suppose, to travel internationally. But the overwhelming reason for travelling here in Australia is it’s the best location in the world,” she said.
Applications have now opened, with Luxury Escapes expecting strong interest from Australians hoping to turn their love of travel into a paid adventure.
